Moral Matrix

Following in the footsteps of Flea, Chris, Curt, and Chris I decided to take this test:

Your Score

image

You scored -0.5 on the Moral Order axis and -3 on the Moral Rules axis.

Matches

The following items best match your score:

System: Liberalism
Variation: Moderate Liberalism
Ideologies: Capital Democratism
US Parties: Democratic Party
Presidents: Gerald Ford (97.79%)
2004 Election Candidates: John Kerry (88.10%), George W. Bush (74.14%), Ralph Nader (69.94%)

Statistics

Of the 27702 people who took the test:

1.2% had the same score as you.
66.6% were above you on the chart.
27.6% were below you on the chart.
28.6% were to your right on the chart.
59.4% were to your left on the chart.

Compare that to where the candidates stood in the US election:

And one would say that if I were American, I would've voted Kerry, as he seems to score closest to me in ideology: but you'd be wrong; which is the problem with relying on people to vote based on plotting the grid and moving yourself into the largest demographic. Having too much political flexibility can make you seem untrustworthy. Politicians should at least seem to have clearly defined positions, not a "what do you want my position to be so you can vote for me" attitude.

That's why I'm convinced he lost. At least with Bush you knew what he stands for.

Rue thinks it was Theresa that cost Kerry the election.

Frank Stronach'll have me whacked...

imageRaging Kraut is now the #1 site when you punch in "Belinda Stronach nude" into the search engine. I wonder what was #1 before Rue hijacked my blog and posted about the fact that someone got here by entering that search string.

I probably cemented my position by posting this entry.

See how the beast feeds itself!

Effin' Rednecks...

Penis hammered off controversial nude statue in Penticton, B.C.

It's not like there was much there before:

image

I guess I'll have to trot down there tomorrow to take the "after" photos (hoping I'm not sick tomorrow, too...)

Mayor Perry said Penticton is not as open to such nude artworks as Toronto and other larger cities and noted public tax money was involved in commissioning the project.

Translation: Old biddies, who have nothing but time on their hands, keep sending me letters offended about the guy's thingy. People have too much time on their hands.

Maybe Penticton should have a better developed tendering process for public art...and traffic design. I have confirmed that it was a Brit ex-pat who designed the roundabout that is so weirdly-placed in that bottleneck close to the shore of Lake Okanagan that provides that empty space the city seems so desperate to fill.

UPDATE: February 2nd: still too sick to go to work to see the remnants. They'll have cleaned it all up by then...Damn!

Of Sinister Cabals and more Sinister Beverages

I finally got around to downloading the images off my digital camera from last week's meetings of the Sinister Red Ensign Cabal TM

SUNDAY

note: pictures were taken at approximately drink six. All subjects are much smarter looking than this...

image

From left to right:

It was a particular pleasure to meet both Nick and Chris on my first Sunday, as I have been an admirer of Nick's since his head-on tackling of the CBC over their absurd stupidities during the coverage of the Columbia incident. It was strange to meet someone that I knew only through correspondence, and see that they are very much the real deal in person.

image

Minus the English accent I always pictured him sporting...

Chris Taylor is a gentleman and scholar. And knows some damn fine alcohol. A fine man to know, and has probably the best looking blog in the land.

image

He was also the only guy I would recognize so I wouldn't get lost at the second Sinister Red Ensign take over the worldTM.

Thursday

From left to right:

At this point the group is relaxed and making fun of the first blogger to leave the table, and token LeftieTM:

image

Alan McLeod of GenX at 40 and A Good Beer Blog. Nicholas has some spy camera photos of the night, including the giant hunks of meat consumed at the carnivorous end of the table.

In response to your spy clicking, Nicholas, I also have photos of you:

image

Of course, Nicholas was the only one following the patriotic better-Canada dress code that night...

Why is it that Chris Taylor appears to be brooding over ordering a hit on someone in every shot that I've taken of him?

image

And, of course I'm confused. I'm the evil twin right? Not Damian?

image

The guy with the goatee is always evil right? So I must be the evil twin? But the good twin's name is Damian: we all know who the most famous Damien of all was, right?

And there's this:

image

which proves my point that Damian Brooks is my evil twin, and not the other way 'round. (The Cartman with the goatee was good and pure of heart, see!)

...How'd I get on to this topic? Must be the residual alcohol in my system reactivating on seeing these pictures. Damned Pavlovian-response!
