Aside from the crap about being born in the "West Wing" of a stupid hospital no one cares about, the rest of the speech wasn't that bad. Typical rah rah election hyperbole, but this "I was a Vietnam hero for four months, so I know everything about war..." is going to get very old, very fast and the Dems better come up with something better soon, because bringing up a divisive war to fight an election during another divisive war could backfire in a big way.
Hillary looks impressed.
Prepare for Hillary in 2008 if Kerry screws this up and joins McGovern, Mondale, and Dukakis.

Ray - how can we not be impressed with the West Wing of Fitzsimmons Army Hospital? Why, when I was twelve years old, and my dad was in Vietnam earning a Distinguished Flying Cross (since he's not an aviator, that's an achievement... oh, did I mention it's a Silver Star equivalent?) and 5, count 'em 5 Purple Hearts (and the bastard didn't come home for 17 months!) I had a rectal abcess surgically repaired in that hospital.
So it is definately an important place.
Especially when you consider that it was an orthopedic ward (it was an ortho hospital) full of young soldiers who had lost limbs (mostly while earning one Purple Heart) and were in rehab.
One of the best memories I have of that place is watching John Wayne (RIP) playing Red Adair (recently RIP) in Hellfighters!
I in no may meant to denigrate the staff and patients of Fitzsimmons Army Hospital. My apologies to any offended by that.
I was offended by the punny-cutesy "West Wing" crap and spoke out too soon. I'm sure that any hospital the Duke's been to is worthy of praise and respect.
