So if we'd closed the sale of our house a bit earlier we would've been in town for the Memorial Cup?

Yes but it wouldn't have mattered. Between the tickets that were allotted to the teams and the tickets that were presold to the Rockets' season ticket holders, there was NOT ONE ticket available to the general public. I know a lot of people in this town, and I don't know anyone who has a ticket to any game.
